Bill Burr: ‘The Mandalorian’ Footage Description.
Bill Burr is travelling to a galaxy far, far away for his latest acting role.
As revealed at this weekend’s Star Wars Celebration, the comedian is set to join the cast of ‘The Mandalorian’, the first live-action TV series set in the ‘Star Wars’ franchise. Details on Burr’s character are light, but the comedian was revealed during a montage of set photos and footage from the new series.
Described as being some kind of a mercenary, Burr appeared in an action sequence where he was said to be shooting up the interior of a ship. Speaking at the panel, Pedro Pascal – who plays the titular character – described the series as a whole as being influenced by Spaghetti Westerns and Clint Eastwood, in particular.
Not only that, another reveal from the panel was that Pascal’s character is not Boba Fett as initially thought. Meanwhile, Carl Weathers and Gina Carano’s roles were confirmed as Greef Karga and Cara Dune, respectively. Weathers’ character appears to be some kind of broker for bounty hunters, and links up Pedro Pascal’s bounty hunter with none other than Werner Herzog – who appears in the very first episode as an underworld figure with ties to the Empire.
Meanwhile, Taika Waititi’s character – an assassin droid named IG-11 – also got a look-in during the footage, as did ‘Breaking Bad’ alum Giancarlo Esposito. Sadly, none of the footage from Star Wars Celebration has made its way online officially. But, if you’re OK with grainy, handheld footage, take a look at this.
